1. 6th User Conference of the FDZ of the BA at the IAB – celebrating 10 years of the Linked Personnel Panel (LPP) on 21-22 November 2022

It is a pleasure for us to announce the program of the 6th User Conference of the IAB-FDZ, which will be held virtually on 21-22 November 2022. The conference will feature sessions focusing on regional economics, human capital and the family context. There will also be a special session dedicated to research using the LPP.

We were able to attract two outstanding keynote speakers: Alexandra Spitz-Oener will give a presentation on 'Workplace Connections, Firm Quality, and Migration: Evidence from German Reunification', and Dirk Sliwka will talk about 'Works Councils as Gatekeepers'.

We are looking forward to two days of excellent research using IAB data, and we invite you to join us. You can register via Xing.

2. IAB Job Vacancy Survey: Survey data until the first quarter 2021 now available, Record-Linkage

A new wave of the IAB Job Vacancy Survey is now available. The extended dataset now covers the period from the fourth quarter of 2000 until the third quarter of 2020. In addition, two further quarterly panel interviews are available as part of a COVID-Panel in the fourth quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.

From wave 2010 a record-linkage with administrative data of the Establishment History Panel (BHP) is available for all establishments of the IAB Job Vacancy Survey.

For this update, all working tools (data report, codebooks) have been revised as well and can be found at https://fdz.iab.de/en/betriebsdaten/german-job-vacancy-survey-of-the-iab-version-0019-v1/.

Previous versions of the data are still available upon request in the archive of the Research Data Center for replicating the results of existing projects.

If you want to update the data for your project, please send us an e-mail (iab.fdz@iab.de).

3. IAB BeCovid: New data sets from the panel 'Establishments in the Covid-19 Crisis' available

The new datasets include survey waves fifteen through twentyfour of our high- frequency establishment survey on labor market and human resources during the Covid-19 pandemic. The panel provides a data set designed to closely track the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

The twentyfour waves of the panel survey cover the period 08/03/2020 – 06/30/2022. This concludes the study and no further waves will be collected.

For further information and download of the working tools, please visit our website: https://fdz.iab.de/en/betriebsdaten/panel-establishments-in-the-covid-19-crisis-iab-becovid-wave-01-24/
