1. FDZ user survey: Invitation to participate

Since summer 2019, the FDZ conducts an ongoing user survey. Many thanks to all users who have participated so far! 2. IAB BeCovid: New waves of the panel 'Establishments in the Covid-19 Crisis' available

The new datasets include survey waves ten through fourteen of our high- frequency establishment survey on labor market and human resources during the Covid-19 pandemic. The panel provides a data set designed to closely track the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

The fourteen waves of the panel survey cover the period 08/03/2020 - 06/18/2021. Newly collected waves are added at a regular interval.

A total of 20 individual waves will be collected for the period 08/03/2020 - 12/31/2021.

3. NEPS-SC5-ADIAB: A new version of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), Starting Cohort 5 (SC5) survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB (NEPS-SC5-ADIAB) is now available

The survey data of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), Starting Cohort 5 (SC5) survey data are collected on behalf of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) in Bamberg. The data product 'NEPS-SC5 survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB' (NEPS-SC5-ADIAB) is provided jointly by the LIfBi and the IAB. Data access is provided by the FDZ at the IAB via on-site use and remote data access. The new version covers administrative data from 1975 to 2019 and NEPS data.

4. PASS: The 14th wave of the survey 'Labour Market and Social Security' (PASS) is now available

The Panel Study 'Labour Market and Social Security' (PASS), which is conducted by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is a database for research on the labour market, the welfare state, and poverty in Germany. The 14th panel-wave from the year 2020 is now available as a scientific use file.

5. IAB-HOPP-ADIAB: New data product IAB-HOPP-ADIAB is now available

The High-frequency Online Personal Panel 'Life and Work Situations in Times of Corona' (IAB-HOPP) surveyed individuals from May 2020 to March 2021. Overall, seven waves were conducted. The data will help researchers to evaluate changes in peoples’ life during the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide long-term research opportunities on labour market consequences of the crisis.

The IAB-HOPP-ADIAB data product consists of the survey data of IAB-HOPP and the administrative data of the IAB (1975-2019).

6. Re-opening on-site use in Nuremberg

The guest room for on-site use in Nuremberg is open again. Slots can be booked online via the Locaboo calendar. Please note that the Covid-19 situation is very dynamic – due to this our opening status and conditions could change quickly. 7. Change in citation standards

The FDZ would like to acknowledge the work of the data producers and make them more visible. To this end, the standards for citing data have been enhanced: In addition to the DOI and the data access mode, the creators of the data should also be named from now on. You can find an exact wording of the citation on the respective data set pages on our homepage.

8. The FDZ is closed from 23 December 2021 until 7 January 2022

During Christmas break, on-site access at both the Nuremberg site and at the remote centers will not be available. This also applies to remote execution services. However, the internal use mode of JoSuA will be active. Advisory services will be limited.

9. Reporting employees who left the institution

We want to remind you that with the implementation of the JoSuA use agreements and according to section 6 II of your use agreement, you have a reporting obligation for employees leaving your institution or if you yourself change employers. Please immediately inform the FDZ about the exit of employees from your institution by e-mail.

This reporting obligation is necessary to ensure data security. Users are only allowed to analyze our data with a valid use agreement. If you leave the institution with which the contract was agreed upon, you are no longer allowed to access the data. Nevertheless, it is possible that your new institution signs a use agreement with us so that you can continue working on your projects.
