2. PASS-SUF: The 13th wave of the survey 'Labour Market and Social Security' (PASS) is now available

The Panel Study 'Labour Market and Social Security' (PASS), which is conducted by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is a database for research on the labour market, the welfare state, and poverty in Germany. The 13th panel-wave from the year 2019 is now available as a scientific use file.

For further information and download of the working tools please visit our website: https://fdz.iab.de/en/FDZ_Individual_Data/PASS/PASS-SUF0619.aspx

The codebook and documentation of PASS, Wave 13 (2020), is provided in FDZ-Datenreport No. 12/2020 (only in German, an english version will be available soon). Further survey information is provided in FDZ-Methodenreport No. 06/2020 (only in German).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. LPP: New LPP-Survey data 1819 and LPP-Panel-Tool are now available

The (LPP) is a linked-employer-employee data set on HR work, corporate culture and management instruments in German establishments that evolved within the framework of the project ‘Quality of work and economic success’. The fourth wave surveyed 769 establishments and 6.494 employees in 2018/2019. The fourth wave features a new section on digitalization. The dataset is linkable to the IAB establishment panel and previous waves of the LPP. If you want to update your existing LPP project to the current version, please note that all four waves will be replaced to the latest version.

Further information on the data set and data access can be found here: https://fdz.iab.de/en/Integrated_Establishment_and_Individual_Data/lpp/LPP1819.aspx

To help data users, extensive working tools and data documentation is available in German and English. The FDZ-Data report 11/2020 provides a detailed data documentation: Download of the German version of the FDZ Data report 11/2020: http://doku.iab.de/fdz/reporte/2020/DR_11-20.pdf Download of the English version of the FDZ Data report 11/2020: http://doku.iab.de/fdz/reporte/2020/DR_11-20_EN.pdf

Documentation on the project ‘Quality of work and economic success’ and data collection for the employer and employee survey can be found in the FDZ Method reports 03/2020 and 04/2020 (only in German).

Also a new LPP-Panel-Tool to prepare the four waves of the LPP-data is now available. It can be used on the standard LPP data. The tool is customisable and enables the user to prepare multiple variations of the data. It is possible to generate single waves, panel data, linked-employer-employee data and to adjust for panel variables and a balanced data structure. Download of the LPP-Panel-Tool: http://doku.iab.de/fdz/LPP/STATA_Panel_Syntax.zip

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. SIEED: New Data Set using linked-employer-employee data is now available

The Sample of Integrated Employer-Employee Data (SIEED) is a linked-employer- employee data set based solely on administrative employer notifications covering the years 1975 to 2018.

It is particularly suitable for e.g. examining the wage structure in establishments or employment mobility.

In contrast to the LIAB data products it dispenses with survey information and other administrative data sources, but can use a larger sample and represent a broader period of time.

For further information please visit our website: https://fdz.iab.de/en/Integrated_Establishment_and_Individual_Data/SIEED7518.aspx

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. HOPP/BeCovid: Information on data availability of new surveys at IAB

The IAB has launched two new surveys in 2020 to investigate the consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic. These are the online survey ‘Living and Working in Times of Corona (HOPP)’ and the online survey ‘Establishment Survey on Exit from Covid-19 Shutdown (BeCovid)’. Both surveys are still in the field. The FDZ plans to make the surveys available to the research community in 2021.
