1. NEPS-SC6-ADIAB: A new version for the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), Starting Cohort 6 (SC6) survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB (NEPS-SC6-ADIAB) is now available

The survey data of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), Starting Cohort 6 (SC6) survey data are collected on behalf of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories e.V. (LIfBi) in Bamberg. The new data product ‘NEPS-SC6 survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB’ (NEPS-SC6- ADIAB) is provided jointly by the LIfBi and the IAB. Data access is provided by the FDZ at the IAB via on-site use and remote data access. The new version covers administrative data from 1975 to 2017 and NEPS data.

2. FDZ Datenreport 03/2020 'New Opportunities for Comparative Cross-Country Research in France and Germany' by Marie-Christine Laible, Marine Seilles, Maria Alkhoury, Raphaëlle Fleureux is now available

This Data Report is the result of the cooperation between the German research data center 'Forschungsdatenzentrum der Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit im Institut fuer Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung' (FDZ) and the French research data centre 'Centre d‘Accès Sécurisé aux Données' (CASD). This cooperation aims at facilitating data access and comparative research between Germany and France. Working closely together, both institutions determined the comparability of labor market data to which they provide access. Further, they introduced a comparison tool at the variable level for two large administrative data sets, the German 'Sample of Integrated Labor Market Biographies' (SIAB) and the French 'Panel tous salariés' (All Employee Panel).

3. Currently the submission of 2 jobs per day is possible via JoSuA

Due to the current crisis it is not possible for our users to visit our locations. For this reason, at the moment there is only the remote data processing to work with the data of the FDZ. Therefore we have increased the limit of daily jobs in JoSuA to 2 jobs per day.

4. FDZ user survey: Invitation to participate

Since summer 2019, the FDZ conducts an ongoing user survey. Many thanks to all users who have participated so far!

We would like to invite you to participate in our survey: https://fdz.iab.de/en/nutzerbefragung.aspx (in English) https://fdz.iab.de/de/nutzerbefragung.aspx (in German)

5. Inclusion of aggregate data in do-files and scripts

The Research Data Centre wants to point to the existing regulation that any inclusion of data in do-files and scripts is strictly prohibited. This does not apply to classifications and conversion tables (e.g., contribution assessment ceilings, DM-Euro translation, GDP deflators, CPIs, transcoding of industry codes, districts or employment agency districts). All aggregate data must be sent as data sets to the FDZ with a detailed description and an indication of the data source. The transmission of data in do-files or other scripts is a violation of Section 6 (4) of the data use agreement and will be sanctioned accordingly.
