5. NEPS-ADIAB: Test data for NEPS-SC4-ADIAB are available

The National Educational Panel Study, Starting Cohort 4 survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB (NEPS-SC4-ADIAB) is available to researchers for analysis via on-site use at the FDZ at the IAB and remote data access. These types of data access on the one hand and the complex data structure of NEPS-SC4-ADIAB on the other hand make it essential to provide relevant test data for the preparation of programs if the data are to be processed efficiently. On the basis of these test data users can already familiarise themselves with the data in advance, prepare their programs and test them.

The test data are now freely accessible over the website of the FDZ. The IAB only provides the administrative part of NEPS-SC4-ADIAB as test data. The test data include all variables of the original administrative and key data. These files can be merged with the download version of NEPS-SC4 data provided by the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories on condition of having a data use agreement for the NEPS data. Due to data protection requirements, the data have to be absolutely anonymous. That means: Test data are random and therefore not eligible for analysis or a comparison of administrative and survey data.

The test data and further information can be found at: https://fdz.iab.de/en/FDZ_Individual_Data/NEPS-ADIAB/IAB_NEPS-SC4-ADIAB7517.aspx

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Ensuring data security when using Scientific Use Files

We would like to remind you that users of Scientific Use Files are only permitted to process the data in rooms specified in the data security concept, which is part of the data use agreement. Any use of our Scientific Use Files outside of these rooms, e.g. through a remote connection, is absolutely forbidden.
