1. LIAB LM 7517: New Linked-Employer-Employee Data Longitudinal Model is now available

A new longitudinal model of the Linked Employer-Employee Data (LIAB) is now available. The LIAB LM 7517 data are based on all establishments classified as panel cases from the IAB Establishment Panel data in the period 2009 to 2016. For these establishments, all workers, who were employed at least one day and were subject to social security contributions in the period of 2008 to 2017, have been identified. Workers’ employment biographies cover the years 1975 to 2017. In total, the LIAB LM 7517 data contain information on 1,692,611 individuals and 41,777 linked establishments.

If you want to update your project, please send us an e-mail (iab.fdz@iab.de)

2. LPP-ADIAB 7517: New LPP survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB is now available

The 'Linked Personnel Panel' (LPP) is a linked employer-employee data set with focus on HR work, corporate culture and management instruments in German establishments and contains the LPP Employer Survey and the LPP Employee Survey.

The LPP-ADIAB, which contains the three waves of the LPP survey data linked to administrative data of the IAB (LPP-ADIAB 7517), is available now. This data set makes it possible to analyze survey and administrative data for the LPP respondents simultaneously. The linked administrative data set contains variables with individual characteristics of the LPP Employee Survey respondents. The administrative data cover the years 1975-2017. In comparison to the previous version, the LPP-ADIAB now contains administrative information on all individuals working in establishments surveyed in the LPP.

If you want to update your project, please send us an e-mail (iab.fdz@iab.de).

It is possible to generate single waves, panel data, linked employer-employee data and adjust for panel variables and a balanced data structure.

7. The FDZ is closed from 23 December 2019 until 6 January 2020

During Christmas break, on-site access at both the Nuremberg site and at the remote centers will not be available. This also applies to remote execution services. However, the internal use mode of JoSuA will be active. Advisory services will be limited.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Our confidentiality requirements

We want to remind that on-site or remote access to our data requires that our users comply with our confidentiality requirements. Section 7 (2) of the use agreement states:

'Weakly anonymous data and internal output must neither be copied in writing, printed or photographed nor copied, duplicated or removed from the computing environment of the FDZ of the BA by any other means. The dissemination of weakly anonymous data or internal output via email, telephone, text messages, fax or any other form of communication is prohibited.'

It is therefore not allowed to collect or make notes about individual data points during the on-site stay within the do-files that will be sent to you. The same rule applies for any output in JoSuA's internal-use-mode. This is true even if your sole intend is to inform your co-authors (or even us!) about certain aspects/problems you found in the data. If you want to discuss data problems with us, please contact us beforehand and tell us about the general problem. If the solution requires that you point us to specific cases, we will advise you to do so without breaching your contract. In particular, please do NOT send us (or others) any individual or establishment IDs under any circumstance, even if these IDs are artificial numbers, or copies of data spells or full individual biographies.
